What is PEiD?

Date:

PEiD is an application to detect the most common packers, cryptors and compilers for PE(Portable Executable) files. Currently, PEiD can detect more than 470 different signatures in PE(Portable Executable) files. The official website is no longer reachable. The tool can be downloaded from many third-party websites, including our website.

You can update the signatures by replacing the userdb.txt with any of the below-mentioned files:

http://handlers.sans.org/jclausing/userdb.txt
http://reverse-engineering-scripts.googlecode.com/files/UserDB.TXT
http://research.pandasecurity.com/blogs/images/userdb.txt
